The Salt Lake City Police Foundation, established in 2011, serves as the official 501(c)(3) nonprofit for the Salt Lake Police Department. Its primary mission is to strengthen the relationship between the community and the police force. The Foundation achieves this by supporting various projects and raising funds in four key areas: Community Outreach, Officer Camaraderie & Honoring Valor, Youth Programs, and Recruitment.
Community Outreach initiatives aim to foster trust and understanding between residents and law enforcement, creating opportunities for dialogue and collaboration. By focusing on Officer Camaraderie & Valor, the Foundation recognizes and celebrates the dedication and bravery of officers, boosting morale and encouraging a supportive work environment.
Youth Programs are designed to engage young people, providing them with positive role models and building trust with law enforcement from an early age. These programs help to inspire the next generation and promote a sense of community responsibility.
Recruitment efforts ensure that the police department attracts diverse and talented individuals who are committed to serving the community with integrity and professionalism.
By promoting transparency and collaboration, the Foundation's overarching goal is to help build a safer, more connected city.
